I didn't know what to expect when we went to Editeur / Christian Lyon Design to have a look for a sofa. We still don't really have a sofa but we did not leave disappointed!If I was to describe the shop, I would use the words eclectic (which is probably over used commonly, but applies here), up-market (ditto) and surprising. It is probably well worth an occasional look to see what Christian and Russell have brought in from their overseas buying expeditions, new, or restored / refurbished.I settled on 2 refurbished contrasting lounge chairs with some history to them, both with striking design. I am drawn to the concept of re-newing items with design appeal for modern use. There are some things that you will just not find in modern shops. The design is also palpably different to what you do see in contemporary design which tends to be more pared back and austere. I cannot fault the workmanship that has gone into these items.There are items here for not a lot, and other items which let's say are statement items and priced accordingly. I wouldn't think though in this area you would be surprised. I do think that if you are looking for lighting, furniture or furnishings (including small accessories) that will differentiate your place beyond the ubiquitous it is well worth dropping in.The lads are good for a chat, and very knowledgeable.
